I’ve never been great at starting in the middle—but that’s where most of my stories begin. Somewhere between belief and undoing, performance and silence, prairie dust and plane tickets.

This space isn’t a blog in the traditional sense and not only because I don’t like the feel of the word blog in mind or mouth. This isn’t a running commentary. It’s not optimized for breaking news. It’s quieter. It lingers. It’s for the pieces of Cultivated I want to live here, in this place I built with care and much googling how to’s.

Some of what you’ll find is mirrored from my Substack. Some live only here. All of it is part of a bigger body of work—a literary memoir, a layered project, a reckoning in installments.

So. Read in order, or don’t. Start anywhere. Come back later. That’s the thing about stories. They keep unfolding, even when we’re not watching.

If you want to stay connected,
subscribe to Cultivated on Substack, or explore the [About] page to get a sense of what this is becoming.
